Fourth of July Photo Bonanza!
Sunday, July 5th, 2009Yesterday was the Independence Day (more commonly known as “The Fourth of July to us yanks”) and we had a BLAST (pun intended har har har). And luckily enough for you, we brought our camera! Oh goody! So we went up to Palmyra (PA, right next to Hershey) to spend the day with Katie and Clayton, who just moved into their awesome new place this week. We had a great day of hanging out, playing in the sprinklers, eating hot dogs, hanging out, eating smores, lighting off fireworks and then watching the big Hershey Park Fireworks show. Now it’s time for the photos!

The three little ones, Buster, Gredtel and Mayzie pose for the camera while looking forward to a great day of playing ahead of them.

Lily’s Pool Party!
Wednesday, July 1st, 2009So little Lily had her FIFTH birthday party on Saturday, which is totally crazy because it seems like just yesterday she had her Fourth Birthday Party and I was blogging about it. This time John and Jaime had the party at their neighborhood swimming hole and we all got wet and sunburnt (ok maybe just me) and had a blast. I got some pictures too! Check ‘em out:

I’m a Human Floation Device. Yeah, I spent a large part of the afternoon being climbed on. It was fun… for a while. Until kids I didn’t know started climbing on me. Then it got weird and I ran away. True story.
The Day Farrah Fawcett Died
Thursday, June 25th, 2009Current Mood:
Sad
This really sucks. The woman was an inspiration and fought long and hard with cancer. Marylynn even served her once as a waitress at Ruby’s. I don’t want to be disrespectful, but I’ve been thinking about this day for 18 years because of this song:
by The Vandals
Birds In The Air
Never Chirped The Same
Slobs In Bowling Alleys Know
They’d Never Burp The Same
They Came To Cry
Shocked With Disbelief
Broken Masses Of Millions
All Drowning In Their Grief
“She Was Just An Innocent
How Could You, God?”
They Cried, The Day
That Farrah Fawcett Died
Throughout The Globe
Every Chinese Man And Turk
Their Unifying Symbol
They Really Liked Her Work
But Who’s To Blame?
No One Made A Move
Until I Find Out Who Did This
Nobody Leaves The Room
“She Was Just An Innocent
How Could You, God?”
They Cried, The Day
That Farrah Fawcett Died
They Say The Road Was Icy
But That Just Don’t Add Up
A Bushy-Haired Intruder
Another Government Cover Up
A Drug-Related Overdose
A Hunting Accident,
Death At The Hands Of Another;
I Will Bet!
First JFK
And Then We Lost The King
Thank God It Must Be Over Now
They Say They Come In Threes
But Still I Ache
The World Has Lost A Friend
I Will Trade All
Of My ViewMaster Reels
To See Her Once Again
“She Was Just An Innocent
How Could You, God?”
They Cried, The Day
That Farrah Fawcett Died
…It Was The Day
I Heard My Momma Cry
It Was The Day
The Day I Hoped You Lied
It Was the Day
I Prayed to God You Lied
“She Was Just An Innocent
How Could You, God?”
They Cried, The Day
That Farrah Fawcett Died
Thanks, Farrah, you will be missed. RIP.

Cricket’s 5th Birthday Party!
Sunday, December 7th, 2008This year, Cricket was adamant that she wanted a Bunny themed party. A rather odd request for December, but we couldn’t deny her, so bunnies it was. Her birthday isn’t until the 10th, but we couldn’t have the party any other time. She had such a hard time grasping that concept (and got a little upset at the idea of “pretending”), we finally just let her believe it was her real birthday after all. So the bunny party was on. Marylynn brainstormed 1001 ways to make it awesome, and she executed most of them. It wasn’t a grand affair, we just had her cousins and a couple close friends over and played games and ate cake, but it was a great time!
The night before, Marylynn made the cake, and detail cleaned everything. She’s a mad woman. I helped prep by painting a bunny on our patio door for “Pin the Tail on the Bunny”. I got an image of “Sonny the Bunny” from the John K blog to copy. I’m really proud of how it turned out.

Based on the children’s book by Art Seiden. It only took my 2.5 hours start to finish. (Acrylic on glass)
Turkey Farm!
Wednesday, November 26th, 2008Halloween 2008
Saturday, November 1st, 2008My favorite holiday of them all, Halloween just happened (in case you missed the fax). We took some pictures. This is what they look like.

Cricket was the Wicked Witch of the East (pre-house accident), Buster was a fauxhawked Superman (we couldn’t find his batman mask). Here they are with our pumpkin on our back patio before going over to Nate and Mara’s for Trick-or-Treating fun.
31 Years
Monday, October 27th, 2008I just turned 31 a couple days ago. It’s strange, as Katie and Clayton pointed out to me, that I’m officially in my “THIRTIES”. I don’t know, I didn’t give this year’s birthday much thought at all. Marylynn had been in Pennsylvania all week watching John and Jaime‘s kids while they were in vacation in California. Friday was fun, because my little sister Emma came out to visit. Unfortunately it wasn’t for very long, just a few hours, but it was a blast.
We went out for burgers and shakes, played some Rock Band and crashed the ward Trunk or Treat and then I dropped her off at the train station before heading out to PA. It was a lot of fun though. Emma’s a cutie. Anyhow, I didn’t get to Elizabethtown until about 1:30 am and immediately started helping Marylynn with household duties and such.
