Hairy Potty

I went to the see Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince with Parker, Christian, Shanna and Popi tonight and it was AWESOME! Really a good movie. Probably the best adaptation yet because they didn’t try to cram in every little detail. Great work, guys!

Then Parker and I stalked Marylynn and Sarah at Albertson’s and shopped with them. It was awesome and a fun time was had by all.

I would have gone into more detail, but I”m almost out of time for my daily blog! and plus, I have to let Sarah use the computer for her own daily entry! meep!

Quick Note on Posting!

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Oh yeah I almost forgot. I changed some settings on this blog to make it easier for you to post comments. I’ve gotten some complaints about not being able to log in, so I took off that requirement. If you’ve already posted a comment here, you shouldn’t have to log in again. I hope it works. I’m a total comment-junkie. :) PLEASE let me know if you have any problems.

–Thanks the management.

Cricket’s Dance Recital

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Last week, Cricket had her final end-of-class dance recital at The Little Gym. She had been going for months, learning to dance, tap and whatever. At the end of the course, they rewarded us parents with a 2-number show.

She's got Pizazz!
We were peer-pressured into getting an her this red sparkly Jean-Benet Ramsay outfit. But I think it would have been worse if she was the only one without one. At least we decided to forgo the spray-on tan and the fake eyelashes this time around. Maybe when she’s six.

Best Father’s Day EVAR!!!

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

I realize this is a little late, but I just figured out an easy way to upload images through this blog (which is the primary reason for Finn to start her own blog.

Well, I’m truly a blessed man. I’ve got the raddest wife who treats me like a king on Father’s Day. This morning started out rather nice with no early morning bishopric meetings, so I got to sleep in until 8am. Marylynn made me a nice big skillet breakfast of eggs, potatoes and bacon (I got to cheat on my diet today! woo hoo!) and I took Cricket to church. Buster seemed a little sick so we decided to play it safe, so Marylynn stayed home with him. This also gave her the chance to clean up for me. Awesome.

So church was good until I got called in to help with the nursery. This is a positive post, so I’m going to skip that part.

When I got home, Marylynn treated me to a nice dinner of BBQ ribs and veggies. Awesome. Then I got to open my big present – GUITAR HERO 3!! woo hoo… In case you’re not familiar with Guitar Hero, it’s a video game, played with a guitar where you hit notes and strum in order “play” real songs. And some of the songs are actually really good. The cool part is that I can download songs through the Playstation network… so we’ve been rocking out to No Doubt, Muse, Coldplay, Kaiser Cheifs, The Killers, Weezer and a bunch more around our house.

Below are the incredibly adorable pictures. Click for captions.

Then we feasted upon a GIANT double-layer cream-filled chocolate chip cookie that was decorated like a cake with frosting saying “happy fathers day”. This thing was a monstrosity!! Seriously so big, and especially coming from being on a diet… well, you know what they say about too much of a good thing…

I can’t remember what we did after we put the kids down, but we probably ended up watching a movie or something. All I know is I’ve got a rad wife who treats me great and knows to get me what I REALLY want for Fathers Day. woo hoo!

Pre-Vacation Check-In

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Hey I thought I’d leave a quick little post so people don’t think we have disappeared. We’ve just been busy. REAL busy. I’m still killing myself over the Yo Gabba website and Marylynn is in PA with the kids helping Katie, Clayton and Gredtel move into their new place in Hershey. I’m going to Baltimore tomorrow for the mega-awesome Virgin Festival Weekend. I’m super giddy. Lots of good bands… Then as soon as I get back we’re flying out to California for our Summer vacation: A week in the Bay Area and a week in Orange County. It should be fun, but I suspect I’ll be exhausted by the time I get back…

I hung out with mission buddy Peter Eubanks and his wife last night. They’re cool. He just graduated from Princeton with a degree in French and he’s taking a job at the University of Iowa. I’m kind of jealous. I wish I could just use my French all day…. oh well.

So if I don’t write for a while you’ll know why, but I’m going to have my laptop with me on vacation, so I should have plenty of pictures to put up here throughout the trip.

We’re doing a bit better since the last post. We still get sad a lot when we think about it, but we’ll be okay. I mean what choice do we really have? The Sherwoods are awesome and we love them so much. They really have such a good eternal perspective on everything. They’re an inspiration to us all.

Anyhow, so to end on a lighter note, I leave you with the best rap video I have ever seen.
